From World to Game
Grimmstone began as a place for stories. Over time, its rain-soaked streets, strange residents, and unresolved mysteries became the foundation of an original tabletop roleplaying game.
The Milestone
The tabletop project has reached its playtesting stage. The Player's Handbook and Bestiary have been prepared for testing, while the Game Master's Guide has been organized into a playtest edition. This is a major step—but not the same as a finished commercial release.
What We're Testing
Can new players make characters without a lengthy explanation? Can a Game Master find the rules they need during play? Do the nine classes feel distinct? Do encounters create meaningful choices? Those are the kinds of questions only real tables can answer.
A City That Keeps Moving
The goal isn't simply to win fights. Grimmstone should feel alive whether the players follow a clue or spend the evening at a strange little bar. The world has its own momentum, and player choices should matter inside it.
What Comes Next
Reader feedback and playtesting will help identify unclear instructions, mechanical problems, and places where the books need better examples. The laboratory welcomes thoughtful criticism; it's how the experiments improve.
