The Philosopher Castor
Founder, author, worldbuilder, and chief instigator of Evil Lab Studios.
Every Laboratory Needs a Madman
Every strange world begins with someone asking a question. What makes a monster? What separates a hero from a villain? What happens to the forgotten and the things that slip through the cracks of ordinary life?
The Philosopher Castor is an author, philosopher, worldbuilder, and game creator fascinated by gothic horror, supernatural noir, detective fiction, mythology, and the peculiar beauty found in life's darker corners.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, and raised for part of his life on an Arkansas farm, Castor earned a bachelor's degree in Game Programming and Development from Southern New Hampshire University.
Through Evil Lab Studios, he develops fiction, tabletop games, original music, art, and interactive experiences. His guiding belief: a world should feel lived in, and even the monsters deserve stories worth hearing.
When he isn't writing or inventing a new game system, he's probably finding a fresh reason to expand the laboratory. Unfortunately, nobody has figured out how to stop him.
A mark from the laboratory. An official author portrait may be added later.
Stories Should Be Places You Can Visit
Not just backgrounds for a plot, but living places with histories, ordinary routines, hidden mysteries, and people who carry on even when nobody is watching.
“Every buried dream helps the garden grow.”
